Travel Across Europe

Marbach, Friedrich Schiller's town

Last spring we had the chance to visit a very small town located about 25 km North from Stuttgart and 10 km from Ludwigsburg, the Schiller’s town.
Marbach am Neckar, that’s how usually people are calling it, it is well known as the Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller’s birthplace town. Friedrich Schiller was one from many other great philosophers and poets that Germany had.

In fact, Marbach is a quite small city, a half a day will definitely fulfill your curiosity. The most important things to visit in Marbach are:

- Schiller-Nationalmuseum und Deutsches Literaturarchiv  - a huge amount of information related to literature history can be found here.
- Schiller’s birthplace
- Old town
- Marbach’s green surroundings
