Calw can be called also the Hermann Hesse's town. Herman Hesse was a poet, painter and a great novelist. In 1946 he was awarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature for "the most outstanding work in an ideal direction" - Alfred Nobel.
This was not the only reason why we visited Calw. Situated approximatively 33 km West from state capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart, Calw has impressed us with his old swabian arhitecture that brings you back to 16th century. In the times when Duke of Württemberg established his summer residence in the old Swabian Black Forest town.
Even if we are in 21'st century now, the city of Calw can give you at least 4 relaxing hours in which you can enjoy the parfume of the old town, the local restaurants with their traditional food and why not visiting the cozy local shops.
